A New Link to read

I have no picture to show today,I still need a scanner to load more ,but I do have a link to a story from another woman.
My husband and I found this earlier , Tracey printed it for us. but I had no way to show anyone so I went back and got the link.

I am saying most of it is pretty much the same as what I already have in the Community Scrap Book, but some of it is incorrect. She has in there that the Community Center is a church and it should be Community Center Asscoiation,Inc. Building that used to be the Firehouse.

I will be sending her a correct notice about that.

I hope to be able to get more information ,I still need to go to Bartow and get what I can from there.
I have hopes to be able to get Mr.Nemeth's History that was written in Hungarian from the Hungarian Place in Plant City.
Not sure how to go about that.

Kossuthville's Former Historian

Mr. and Mrs. Nemeth

When I first started living out here in K-ville we were and still are living on Nemeth St. and at the time I had no idea that a Mr. Calvin Nemeth was the son of Joseph Nemeth and that our Street was named after him (Joseph) .
Calvin had been living in the block house on the corner of Nemeth and 542 .We knew him as simply Mr. Nemeth and I did not know there was lots of history behind his life until after my husband Royce and I both became involved with the Community .
But Mr. Nemeth had passed away a year or 2 before that, if I had known I was going to be assigned as Histroian for the community I would have paid more attention to what was happening to his estate. His son lived next door and his daughter lived in Lakeland .It was a couple years later that I found out that his daughter Debbie had sent Hungarian History of Kossuthville to the Hungarian Foundation in Plant City .
I asked about it when I met her , she said she could not read it and did not know anyone who could, so she donated it to them. It was all written in Hungarian !! Her Grandfather Joseph wrote in it everyday of his life until he passed away .I would love to get a hold of it in English.
However there was some history she could share with me that her father kept over the years himself ,and I plan to share some of that, but a little at a time .

First Newspaper Clipping We saw of Kossuthville

This is the one we remember seeing  back in the 90's that was in the news paper .I had saved it for a long time, but then misplaced it . I got this copy from the Community Center and then another from Debbie Nemeth Bracewell.Grand daughter to Jospeh Nemeth the founder of Kossuthville ,Florida.
It was amazing the plans they had for this small community that never happened . I heard stories that they planned for it to be like any small town with post office ,train station, park and etc.
There was even a drawing showing where they wanted the center of town to be and that was one the corners of  Rene and Summer Streets .I have the drawing on our display board that I put out every year during the Holiday Dinner .
Later I will make a copy of this article so it can be read by all .
There is lots more to tell and I will post more later.
If anyone has any early history to share with me please leave a comment ,your name and e-mail so we can talk about it ,Thank you. Cheryl  Hartzog ,Historian of Kossuthville ,Florida

Introduction To K-Ville Community Association

Several Years ago , My husband Royce and I were outside working in the yard when we saw some people coming down the road with orange vest, gloves and trash bags on a cart with a lawn mower, some were walking , they stopped to talk to us and told us it was National Clean-up day for the community .
They invited us to come to the meetings.
Royce was interested, so he started going and by listening to him talk about the meetings and the people there I became interested too.
So both of us kept going .
Finally the next year they were voting for new officers . We were both listed on the ballot , Royce became the building supervisor and I became the Historian.
His job was to make sure everything in the building was in good working order , was kept clean ,inspected the building before and after a rental and etc.
My job was at the time to keep track of pictures and put them in the albums and report any news of events and old history.

Later on I was digging into any old history of  K-ville, both of us remembered about a news paper story of K-Ville years ago,. I was looking for the paper, I knew I had kept it but must have thrown it away not realizing what it was at the time .
I started asking questions and everyone that heard anything was trying to help , After reading a different story about a 25th Reunion , I discovered that the street we live on was named after the man that founded this community , which was 86 years ago !
Later on I found out that a grand daughter of this man had lots of information .She helped me with more , I will be adding new stories as we go , this is how I got involved and hope to keep this going for everyone to read .
